Alex Vietheer

Alex Vietheer is a dedicated music educator currently teaching a range of music courses at the Long Island High School for the Arts, one of the region’s premier performing arts high schools. His classes are designed to equip students with the essential skills needed to thrive as professional, gigging musicians. These include stage presence, musicianship, rehearsal etiquette, improvisation, ear training, and more. Prior to joining LIHSA, Alex spent three years teaching at the Academy for Language and Technology in The Bronx, where he led courses in music theory, keyboard fundamentals, and music production. He is committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment, employing modern teaching methods and social-emotional learning (SEL) techniques to support student growth and creativity.

Musician

Alex Vietheer holds a Master of Music in Guitar Performance and is an active performer throughout the Long Island and New York City areas. His work spans a wide range of styles—from pop to jazz—and includes performances with vocalists as well as a jazz sextet. Known for his versatility, Alex specializes in a broad spectrum of genres, making him a sought-after musician for cocktail hours, restaurants, and private events. His dynamic playing style and adaptability ensure a tailored musical experience for any setting.
